About Me
Hello, I’m Mairi.
I grew up, and now live, in the North West Highlands of Scotland overlooking the Inner Sound, a body of water between the mainland and the Isles of Raasay and Skye.
I completed an MSc in Art Therapy, graduating with distinction in 2008. Following this I worked for many years in therapeutic practice for NHS and Third Sector organisations. I have worked for many years supporting people, especially young adults, with a wide range of issues, most recently with trauma experienced people within a specialist trauma service.
I am registered with HCPC (AS13606) as required by my profession, and I work to uphold the standards of proficiency. I am also registered with the British Association of Art Therapists.
As well as an Art Therapist, I am also an artist and a crofter; within these practices I am interested in our relationship with land and the non-human beings and things we encounter. If you would like to know more about my art practice, you are most welcome to take a look at my artist website. (currently unavailable - under construction)
